Frequently Asked Questions
Does p.o.p. have a sugar-free butter crunch?
Not at this time. If sugar consumption is a problem, we recommend enjoying p.o.p. in smaller amounts. Many of our customers purchase p.o.p. in its 2 oz. size to regulate their sugar intake.
Does p.o.p butter crunch come without nuts?
Nah. We haven’t identified a nut-free crunch option that’s up to our standard. But note that there are NO peanuts in any p.o.p. products; only premium nuts are used.
Does p.o.p. come with chocolate?
Yes, yes, and YES! Customers loved when we dipped our p.o.p. mix into dark Belgium chocolate and Swiss white chocolate for our Valentine’s Day specials. For now, we’ll continue to bring chocolate-dipped products in for holiday specials or special events. Email us if you’d like to make a large, special order, and we’ll let you know if we can something out.
Tell me a little about the sprinkles you use on p.o.p. candy.
We’re happy to have found all natural India Tree nonpareils, decoratifs, and chocolate vermicelli from that we’re now using on our butter crunch. At your request, we can still sprinkle butter crunch with the conventional fun-shaped and colored kind that’s enjoyed by sprinkle lovers everywhere. NOTE: The conventional kind of sprinkles are not all natural.
Why is p.o.p. butter crunch candy not a brittle candy?
People sometimes refer to our candy as a brittle, but it’s really more like a toffee. The cooking process involved in making brittle uses oil; p.o.p. uses butter for a softer crunch. p.o.p. is buttery sweet, toasty, and crunchy… yet, not hard on the teeth!
How long does p.o.p. candy last?
We rarely hear this question from our customers or people who have tried our
butter crunch because it never lasts long enough. Shortly after purchase,
it quickly disappears! Ultimately, p.o.p. butter crunch is best enjoyed within
two weeks of purchase; however, it can last up to four weeks (if you dare!).
What’s the best way to store p.o.p. candy?
Our butter crunch is best stored in a cool, dry place. p.o.p. loves cool pantries and drawers. Keep it clasped closed, not in a sealed container. It should not sit in a warm temperature or a moist environment. Refrigerators cause the candy to get sticky – so remember, cool and dry!
What’s the best way to send p.o.p. long distance?
Let us send p.o.p. to that special person or organization for you. We send p.o.p. timely in sturdy cardboard mailers that arrive at your doorstep in great shape. Due to the fresh and perishable nature of our product, we do not suggest delivering p.o.p. to post office box addresses, where the mailer may be exposed to sun, heat, rain, small sugar-liking critters, or detrimental elements for a length of time. p.o.p. should not sit in a warm temperature or a moist environment for any length of time.
Does p.o.p. have a storefront?
We currently don’t have a storefront, but you can buy p.o.p. directly
from us at the Sunday Mar Vista Farmers Market in Mar Vista, CA. We’re
also at a number of West Los Angeles food markets, specialty shops, and coffee
houses. Please see our locations page for more information.
Does p.o.p. donate to philanthropic efforts?
p.o.p. firmly believes in supporting the community. Please see our p.o.p. giving page to see where we’ve contributed and to submit a donation request. (NOTE: We need at least a one-month notice before your event.)
